Cindy started her career as a Telecommunicator with the Highland Village Police Department in 2001. From 2003 to September 2019, she has been an employee with the Denton County Sheriff’s Office starting out as a Communications Officer/Trainer and then a Communications Training Coordinator. Cindy is currently employed as a Public Safety Dispatch Training Coordinator for the City of Denton Police Department.
A major career accomplishment for Cindy was being one of three bi-lingual trainers who contributed to the development of the TCOLE course 22109, Spanish for Telecommunicators. This course approved by the former TCLEOSE in 2008. Another major career accomplishment on her list was her promotion to Communications Training Coordinator. She has always had a passion for training and employee recognition; her passion also includes helping people refocus their perspective back to positives and things we should be grateful for.
She has earned many awards throughout her career including a Merit award, two Silent Hero Awards, Communications Officer of the year award and a nomination for Trainer of the Year. She is a licensed Master Telecommunicator, an active TCOLE Instructor and a TCIC/NCIC Associate Trainer. Cindy has served on multiple personal and professional committees/clubs as well as the Texas Public Safety Conference committees.
