Nominations are open for 2nd Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Regional Coordinator for East, West and South Regions.

THE LAVERNE HOGAN AWARD
This award recognizes a 9-1-1 Administrator who not only excelled in his or her everyday job, but who has gone above and beyond to further the goals of the Texas Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association (TX-NENA), a person who not only consistently meets, but exceeds the expectations of their peers.

THE COTTINGHAM COLLABORATION AWARD
This award recognizes a 9-1-1 professional who not only excels in his or her every day job, but who has gone above and beyond to further the goals of the Texas Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association (TX-NENA).

TELECOMMUNICATOR OF THE YEAR
This award is presented to an individual Telecommunicator in recognition of his/her commitment to public safety and his/her exemplary handling of a specific call for emergency assistance. Consideration is given to skills and knowledge exhibited in the areas of communication and leadership, and the Telecommunicator’s ability to respond to unusual or special circumstances.

OPERATIONS PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR
This award recognizes an outstanding Supervisor who has demonstrated consistently exceptional knowledge and skill in the management or administration of programs and staff in a public safety or 9-1-1 communications center.

PUBLIC EDUCATION PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR
This award recognizes an outstanding public education professional who has demonstrated exceptional contributions toward the advancement of public education in the public safety community.

This award recognizes an outstanding Technical professional who has demonstrated exceptional contributions toward the advancement of technology in the public safety community.

The Training Professional of the Year Award recognizes a professional who has demonstrated exceptional contributions toward the advancement of training in the public safety community.

KID HERO OF THE YEAR AWARD
This award recognizes an outstanding recipient of a local 9-1-1 Kid Hero award in the state of Texas.

SILENT HERO CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION
The Silent Hero Certificate of Recognition is a noncompetitive award presented to an individual telecommunicator in recognition of his/her exceptional professionalism in the field of public safety.  It also acknowledges the special contributions of telecommunicators whose daily performance is an inspiration and example to others.

THE J. ROSS SHEROHMAN SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship was established to assist public safety professionals in reaching a higher level of knowledge by participating in the Texas Public Safety Conference and Pre-conference courses and to provide 9-1-1 professionals financial assistance, when needed, for educational opportunities provided by Texas NENA and thereby enhance the public safety profession.
