Director

Pharr Public Safety Communications

Kenneth is currently serving as the Public Safety Communications Director at the Pharr Public Safety Communications Center. Kenneth started his career in public safety with the Donna Fire Department as a firefighter. Following in his mother’s footsteps he became a dispatcher for the City of Edcouch in 2002. Kenneth progressed his career by becoming the Communications Supervisor for the Pharr Fire Department, then Training Coordinator for the Lower Rio Grande Development council 9-1-1 department. During his tenure with LRGVDC 8-1-1 he became very involved with the 9-1-1 industry and helped push certification status for TCOLE telecommunicators by speaking in front of the Texas Senate. He continued his passion for public safety by becoming a licensed Texas Peace Officer in 2012, where he served as a law enforcement officer and worked full time as the communications supervisor for a newly formed regional fire communications center named Firecomm. During his tenure with Firecomm he took his need to give back to the community one step further and became a licensed EMT for the Pharr Fire Department. Kenneth was given the honor to lead the Pharr Public Safety Communications center in 2021 and continues to serve his community in various ways. He is humbled to be given the opportunity to be a voice for the NENA members of Texas as he brings his innovative and progressive thinking to the decisions made on behalf of his fellow call takers, dispatchers, and 9-1-1 professionals. He is excited to progress, innovate, educate, and build a better culture for all the professionals in Public Safety Communications industry.
